Social Services
The Social Services team assists families and residents with the
psychosocial adjustment of living in a nursing home. Social
Services also serve as resident advocates whose special charge is to
ensure that resident's rights are being met within the facility.
Full understanding of the family and the resident are important, so
these rights are reviewed at the time of admission and assistance will
be provided if translation or other arrangements are needed.

Although residents may bring up concerns informally, the Social Services
team is also responsible for two regularly scheduled meetings that
give an opportunity for families and residents to formally discuss
important issues and concerns. The meetings are:
Monthly Resident Family Council:
Residents may voice any concerns and make suggestions that will be
addressed by facility staff.
Quarterly Family Council:
Family members are given the opportunity to meet together along with the
staff members for discussions of concerns and suggestions they may have.
This is also a time when staff will update families with educational
presentations involving resident's needs.
