Nursing Services

At the heart of our care is our professional nursing staff and the specific care and services they provide to each resident. As an intermediate and skilled nursing facility, we have licensed Registered Nurses on staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure the quality of our comprehensive nursing program. Nursing services also include engaging families in the care of their loved one by providing education in key aspects of the resident's care.

Certified Nurse Aides (CNAs) work at the bedside and assist in all aspects of activities of daily living for the resident. Specially trained CNAs also conduct individualized restorative programs to help restore and maintain the resident's functional abilities.

Nursing services begin when a resident is admitted to our centre. A nursing assessment is done of the resident's care needs at that time. Then each resident is placed in the care of a team called the Interdisciplinary Care Team. This team includes representatives from nursing, social services, nutritional services, therapeutic recreation and financial services. They meet regularly to review and discuss the resident's needs. This complete way of treatment ensures that all therapies and services are complimenting each other for the best interest of the resident.

Sometimes the need is for a place of transition between hospital and home or community based programs. We refer to this as post-acute services and it often helps to shorten the hospital length of stay and assists in a successful discharge home or other level of care facility. Nursing staff provide the education and training necessary for a safe and successful return to the community.
