Business Office
Arranging
for the financial coverage of long term care can be a complex and
overwhelming process. Our Business Office staff is prepared to assist residents and their families
with a wide variety of financial services. Our staff is pleased to
explain every option that is available to you.
Prior to admission, information is obtained from family members, the
hospital, discharge planner or others assisting in the placement process.
This information helps the facility's admission team
determine whether
or not ANRC is able to meet the resident's needs.
At the time of admission, the Admissions Coordinator, Social Services,
and the Business Administration Representative will meet with the family
and resident. The purpose of these interviews is to get acquainted
with the family and resident, and to contribute to the development of a
plan of care, and lay the foundation for what may be a long and close
relationship.
Medicare:
A person is entitled to Medicare Hospital Insurance beginning on
the first day of the month in which he/she reaches age 65 and becomes
eligible for monthly Social Security benefits. The Medicare Part A
benefits in a long term care setting include up to 100 days of skilled
coverage per incident and after receiving at least 3 days of hospital
care. After the Medicare Part A coverage has been utilized, a
resident might be eligible for Medicare Part B coverage for certain
supplies and therapies while in the nursing home. For more
details on Medicare eligibility,

Medicaid:
Medicaid is a federal program administered by the Hawaii
Department of Human Service, based on financial need and the medical
necessity for nursing home care. Although the benefits last
indefinitely, the State reviews all Medicaid residents annually to make
sure they continue to qualify both financially and medically. For
more details on Medicaid eligibility,

Long Term Care Insurance:
Insurance coverage is available to cover certain costs of nursing
facility care. Some plans will supplement Medicare or Medicaid
coverage and cover expenses beyond what these plans cover. Others
pay for a portion of daily expense for a set amount of days in a nursing
center. These policies may be in the form of supplemental or
long-term insurance. **If your family member has such insurance coverage, bring a copy
of the policy to our attention. Our business office will be happy
to assist you in verifying benefits and coverage.
Veteran's Benefits:
The federal government has a program for those individuals who
have an honorable military service. There are several criteria
areas that individuals must meet and the amount that may be paid will
vary according to each individual. Our staff can assist you in
determining eligibility. For more details on Veteran's Benefits,
Other Insurances:
Should you not meet the criteria for Medicare, Medicaid, or
Veteran's Benefits, a private payment plan is available.
